McCall on Call

Greetings!

As McCall on Call enters it’s third month of updates, I’ve been doing some experimenting. Webcomics evolve over time, and I don’t want to be afraid of trying new things. With that in mind, I’m going to try a color experiment coming up.

McCall on Call is already done in color, with a greyscale filter applied over the comic as a last step before uploading it. Quite by accident, I found that if you manipulate that filter just a bit, you get an interesting washed-out color look that reminds me of older photographs. Add a film grain texture, and voila- a new look.

We introduce yet another new resident on Tuesday this week, so what better opportunity to try out the color? We’ll see how it works out. If it does, I’ll start replacing some of the earlier comics with the new look. If not, well we tried something new!
