About McCall on Call

Welcome to McCall on Call, a noir-inspired look into the world of Hank McCall, an R.A., set on the campus of fictional Lakeland State University. McCall on Call follows Hank as he attempts to act as a mentor to his new residents as they navigate being away from home and being independent for the first time. Yeah, he’s got to enforce university policy, but he’d like to do it without being that guy. He’d rather be reasonable, as the alternative is paperwork. And Hank really doesn’t like doing paperwork.

Lakeland State is no ordinary college campus, though. In addition to the usual R.A. duties of enforcing quiet hours and the university’s alcohol policy, Hank often finds himself and his staff mates confronted with gangsters, obscure cults, old flames, femme fatales, and mad science gone horribly wrong. It all ensures that there is never a dull moment in his line of work, no matter how much Hank may wish for one.

About the Author

Eddie Dixon has been drawing since at least first grade, and has been drawing comics since early high school. McCall on Call comes from having been an R.A. on a college campus himself. Eddie has a B.S. and M.S. in meteorology. Aside from cartooning and drawing in general, his other hobbies include modeling the fictional Coal River Valley Railway in HO scale, cooking, scotch, pencil and paper RPGs, and grand strategy computer games. He also has an avid interest in history, particularly military history, and the natural sciences such as seismology, volcanology, astronomy, and, of course, meteorology. Eddie is married to a wonderful woman named Cindy, who indulges him in his expensive hobbies and rolls her eyes at his terrible, horrible puns.
